HI-Reliability
Special Products Divn offers, environmental and test services to MIL-STD-883 and Standard Military Drawing (SMD) compliant components. Customer supplied specification parts and Commercial devices are upgraded.

Force can supply devices manufactured on a certified Qualified Manufacturing Line (QML) facility and approved by the DSCC. ISO9002 registration assures full traceability demonstrates our dedication to quality products and services.

Force Technologies Ltd "Special Products Divn's business unit is dedicated to providing a prompt response to RFQ's, immediate order status and on-time delivery on all orders.

Upscreening devices to 883

Class B and Class S Processing differences, historically military applications have utilised ceramic packaged microcircuits assembled and screened to either Class Level B or Class Level S (Space Level) as defined by MIL- STD- 883 Method 5004 with Quality Conformance Inspection QCI performed in accordance with MIL- STD- 883 Method 5005.

QML Class B Considerations Under MIL- PRF- 38535, a QML certified manufacturer is permitted to modify, substitute, or delete tests that do not improve the quality and/ or reliability of the finished device as defined by the applicable device specification. Therefore the end user of a Class B microcircuit should not assume that all screening detailed in MIL- STD- 883 Method 5004 and all quality conformance inspections detailed in Method 5005 are performed.

Force Technologies when specifying compliant Class B Processing identify certified (and listed by the Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC)) a manufacturer of QML Class B microcircuits (integrated circuits) in accordance with MIL- PRF- 38535 (General Specification For Manufacturing Integrated Circuits). All processing, screening, and Quality Conformance Inspection (QCI) is performed to Level B in compliance with the test methods of MIL- STD- 883, Microcircuits Test Method Standard, with exceptions as allowed by Paragraph 1.1 of MIL- PRF- 38535.

To enable customer satisfaction FT will provide a detailed SCD where full screening and manufacturing deatils are provided. Customers can specify additional parameter testing at any time in the manufacturing or testing process.

COTS Upscreening devices

The advent of plastic COTS in hi-temp applications has created many different specifications used in the "ruggedising" or "militarising" of semiconductor devices. The cost savings gained vs reliability must be weighed up very closely and by suppliers who know what they are talking about!
