Force Technologies opens sovereign semiconductor test lab to support anti-counterfeit testing for critical electronics New UK facility will help high-reliability electronics customers verify semiconductor authenticity and reduce reliance on overseas test routes.
COLLINGBOURNE DUCIS, UK: 18 June 2026 – Force Technologies has opened a new semiconductor test lab at its site in Wiltshire, UK. The facility is dedicated to anti-counterfeit testing of integrated circuits, supporting customers who need confidence in the authenticity and performance of critical electronic components.
The Sovereign Test Lab has been developed in response to growing concern around counterfeit and nonconforming semiconductors, particularly where obsolete, hard-to-source or grey-market components are being procured for long-life programmes. For customers in sectors such as aerospace, defence, medical and industrial electronics, a single compromised component can create significant reliability, compliance and reputational risk.
The new lab will provide a UK route for anti-counterfeit semiconductor testing, helping UK and European customers avoid the cost, delay and exposure associated with sending components to facilities in the Americas and Asia. It will support testing in line with AS6171 requirements, with Force Technologies also working towards ISO 17025 accreditation.
The lab’s capabilities include external visual inspection, detailed sample inspection under microscope, marking verification, resurfacing checks, dimensional inspection against original datasheet parameters, XRF analysis and X-ray inspection. These methods can help identify indicators such as remarking, resurfacing, incorrect material composition, internal anomalies, wrong die, incorrect wire placement, detached or crossed wires and package cracks.
